Brother Aaron Joseph Moses, Sr., a native and resident of New Orleans, LA, in a twinkling of an eye, Aaron Joseph Moses, Sr. slipped into eternity. He departed his earthly life of 62 years of Friday, July 18, 2025, at Ochsner Medical Center- New Orleans with his family by his side to enter into the joy of his Master. He leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom, joy of memories that will be treasured forever.
Aaron Joseph Moses, Sr, was born on December 8, 1962, to the late Rufus Sr. and Gloria Mae Moses. He received his education at Joseph S. Clark High School of New Orleans. He also served in the New Orleans Job Corps. Aaron worked at various restaurants in New Orleans as a supervisor and developed experience in the joy of cooking.
Aaron accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized into the catholic faith of Corpus Christi Catholic Church of New Orleans, La. After marrying the love of his Bridget Moses, Aaron started fellowshipping in the Baptist faith. He lived a life rooted in faith by serving the Lord because he loved Christ.
Aaron was a devoted family man and friend to those who knew him. He was their rock, inspiration and supporter. He found joy in life's simple pleasures by cooking for his family and taking his grandkids to school, practice and wherever they needed to go. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and watching sports, especially the Saints game, whom he was huge fan of. As we say goodbye to Aaron today, let us remember not just the loss but the joy he brought into our lives. He legacy will continue in the lives he touched and love he shared.
Aaron leaves a family who adored him beyond measure: His beloved wife Bridget Shaw-Moses of 37 years, two daughters: Bridget "Brittney" Moses (Jeremy, Sr.), Ariel Moses (Shawn) and the one son: Aaron Moses, Jr., of New Orleans, La, six grandchildren: Jeremy Jr., Jacorian, and Jenesis Robertson, Cameron, Cali and Camille Lewis, one sister: Paula Moses of Houston, Tx, four brothers: Reginald Sr. (Ernestine), Rufus Sr.(Marlene), of New Orleans, La, Raymond Moses of Houma, La, and Ernest Farria of New Orleans, La, one aunt: Lois Thomas, of New Orleans, La, four godchildren: Andre Lewis, Raynesha George, Dominque and Erron Moses, one sister-in-law: Lena Tircuit, one brother-in-law: Simuel Shaw and host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Aaron Joseph Moses, Sr. was preceded in death by his parents: Rufus Sr. and Gloria Mae Moses, one brother Reuben Moses, maternal grandparents: Reginald and Ernestine Hughes, father-in-law and mother-in-law Samuel and Isabella Shaw-Tircuit.
Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice. My should followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me. Psalms 63:7-8
Funeral services for Brother Aaron Joseph Moses, Sr. will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Professional Funeral Services 1449 North Claiborne Ave., New Orleans, La., Pastor Winston B. Ricks, Officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM, with the service to follow at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in the Providence Memorial Park, 8200 Airline Highway, Metairie, La.
