It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Adam Brooks, known affectionately as Mr. Belvidere, Me-Mo, and Adamos, born on November 20, 1964, in Camden, NJ, to Walter Reddick and Jean Brooks-Graves. God called him home on November 4, 2024, in the very same city that he loved.
Adam was a reliable and thoughtful individual, who found joy in the simple, yet important things in life. His love for his family was unmatched, and his ability to make people laugh was a gift that brightened up any occasion. As the quote goes, "A day without laughter is a day wasted," and Adam certainly lived by this principle, filling the lives of those around him with joy and mirth.
Adam had an enduring passion for Philadelphia's sports teams, and his heartwarming singing voice, often serenading his loved ones with songs from Patti Labelle, was a testament to his vibrant spirit. He was a hard worker at various jobs, including Walmart, Camden Shipyard, and many hotels. An alumnus of the Camden School system and Rutgers College, Adam was a proud and loving father, a devoted son, and a cherished uncle. He was a lover of cooking breakfast, a meticulous cleaner, and a dedicated babysitter to his cousins.
In his church family, Adam was a beloved member of the Baptist Temple, as a child he attended Broadway United Methodist Church, New Beginnings United Methodist Church, New Fellowship UAME Church, and Little Rock Baptist Church.
Adam's life was a beautiful testament to the power of love and family. He is survived by his mother, Jean Brooks Graves; his daughter, Brittany Brooks-Dombkowski; his uncles, Charles (Margaret) Reddick, Albert (Mamie) Harvey, and Michael, Darrell, Lawrence Harvey; his aunts, Annie King, Angelita Reddick, and Corrine (Vincent) Williams; his cousin, Donald Blakney; bonus children Christopher, Christina, his grandchildren, Jacob, Ja'Myah, Jayden, Jae'Lynn, Jeremiah, Jae'la, and J'air; his best friend, Mark Branch, a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Reddick; his brother, Troy Brooks; his step-father, Joe Graves; his grandparents, Albert, Bernice Harvey and Joshua, Flonzee Reddick, his grandson Jua'l Dombkowski.
We invite you to share your memories and photos of Adam on his memorial page, to keep the spirit of this remarkable man alive in our hearts.
