Alan Leon Palmer of
Ogden, Utah passed away at the age of 58 years young of a BIG heart. He was the first born son, to Rod Mason Palmer and Pamela Sue King Palmer, born on March 31, 1966, in Ogden. He was raised and attended school in Layton, Utah. Alan was a hard worker at the age of 14 he was peeling potatoes at the local diner and at the age of 16 he decided to follow the career path of his dad into the trucking industry, where he was a Hostler, and a Truck Driver for Smith's Food and Drug for many years. Alan loved to work with his hands. From a leaky kitchen sink to a car engine overhaul, there was nothing he couldn't fix. No project was ever too big for him, and if he couldn't figure it out himself, he always had a friend who could. Alan was known for his elaborate story telling, jokes, love for motorcycles, passion for horses, a colorful vocabulary, always being on the go, and his unbreakable bond with a bottle of ketchup. He cared for others more than himself. If Alan was near we all knew it was going to be a crazy good time.
He loved being wild and causing chaos with his grandsons, Braxton and Awstyn Garcia, Taison Palmer, and Riker Riddel. He is survived by the three loves of his life, Bettina Gallegos, April Palmer, and Rhona Head. His children, Ashley Rochelle Palmer, Alan Rod Palmer (Kelsey), his "baby girls," Pamela and Tabitha Palmer Bradford and the children he loved and raised as his own, Jason McCalmant, Cristi Pope (Jake), Emily Hymas (Mike), Whitney Head, Jake Bruin, and Nikki Bruin. He'll also be deeply missed by his siblings, Cathy Palmer Rinderknecht, Bret Palmer, Holly Kester, Brandi Medina, Bobby Palmer (Ally), Jaime Archuleta (Troy), Pamela JaNae Brooks (Justin) and Kashae Dickamore (Whitney). Known lovingly as "Grandpa Geek" & "Hairy," Alan leaves behind 26 cherished Grandchildren: Braxton, NaTaizu, Awstyn, Zyler, Alyricx, TyLar, Taison, KaLeigha, Mack, Aryes, Major, Angelina, Austin, Alexia, Madison, Nathan, Jaxon, Hayden, Sierra, Ethan, Keaton, Boston, Jayden, Kage, Mack, and Shawnee - and 13 Great Grandchildren: ZayVience, Ciara, Kiyano, King, Kyrie, Paislee, Oakley, Adeline, Gracie, Wariah, Emerie, Haisleigh and August who all held a special place in his heart.
