Albert Chris Leven, of Eaton Rapids, MI, peacefully passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at the age of 67. Born on October 12, 1956, in Lansing, MI, the third child of Alberto Leven and Geneva Maldonado.
Raised in Lansing, Albert attended Otto Middle School and Sexton High School. He enlisted in the United States Army, serving with pride while stationed in Korea. Upon completing his service, Albert returned to Michigan, settling in Eaton Rapids, where he lovingly raised his three children. His professional dedication was evident as he devoted 42 years of his life to General Motors, ultimately retiring in 2019 as a press operator at the Delta Plant.
Beyond his professional life, Albert found joy in many activities. He found excitement in drag racing, often seen navigating his Mustang down various dragstrips throughout the region. His love for adventure extended to family trips to Las Vegas, where he relished the moments spent with his wife and loved ones. Albert also enjoyed playing golf with his dad, Dan, and enjoyed the warmth of family gatherings, especially cookouts.
Albert's greatest joy stemmed from his role as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He selflessly placed his family's needs above his own, cherishing every moment spent with his grandchildren, always present to witness their growth and accomplishments.
Albert leaves behind his loving wife of 50 years, Rene (Albers) Leven; daughters, Michelle Leven and Alicia (Mike) Mazuca; son, Albert (Melissa) Leven; grandchildren, Alyssa Mazuca, Michael Mazuca II, Lexi Leven, and Max Leven; great-grandchildren, Christiano and Emiliano Zdunic; dad, Dan Matthews; sisters, Elizabeth (Dave) Grace, Janice Elias, Annette (Paul) Titus, June (Ty) Parker, and Janie (Matt) Ottinger; sister-in-law, Hortencia Leven; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Albert was preceded in death by his father, Alberto Leven; mother, Geneva Matthews; brothers, Richard Leven, and Leroy Leven; and brother-in-law, Joe Elias.
A public visitation to honor Albert's life will take place on Sunday, May 19, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids. The family will hold a private funeral service and burial on Monday. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation or the Wounded Warrior Project in memory of Albert.
