Alfred Dale Delfo, 84 years old, passed away on January 31, 2025 at his home with his loving wife of 61 years by his side.
Fred joined the United States Navy and served proudly from July of 1958 – July of 1986, and retired after serving 26 years he ranked E 7 and Chief Petty Officer (CPO). He had also serviced two tours in Vietnam.
Fred received the following accommodations and awards during his time served: National Defense Service Medal; RVN Meritorious Unit Commendation; Purple Heart Medal; Combat Action Ribbon, Fifth Good Conduct; Armed Forces; Expeditionary Medal; Navy Expeditionary Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; and Vietnam Campaign Medal.
After retiring from the United States Navy, he worked in Civil Service. He was a Mason for many years and achieved the Scottish Rights and made High Priest.
Fred was devoted to his Sobriety. He enjoyed scuba diving, Mason's, and traveling.
He preceded in death by his son, Bryan T. Delfo.
Fred is survived by his wife, Marilyn Delfo; sons, Chris Delfo and Greg Delfo; daughter in- laws, Tonya Delfo and Shannon Delfo; granddaughters, Heather Delfo, Tracy Delfo Schwierman, and Kearsten Delfo Miller; five great grandkids; and many of friends.
Fred will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
A traditional funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. The family invites loved ones to join them starting at 10:00 a.m. for the visitation, and the service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Fred will be laid to rest at Barrancas National Cemetery.
