In Loving Memory of Alfred Royal, Sr.
A Life Well Lived.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Alfred Royal, Sr., who departed this life on January 25, 2025, at the age of 58. Alfred was a beloved husband, father,
grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin, a cherished friend to many, and a respected member of the St. Rose, LA and Arlington, TX communities.
Born on February 19, 1966, in Liberty, MS. Alfred grew up with a love for basketball and
other sports activities. He attended the public schools in St. Charles Parish -Louisiana and graduated from Destrehan High School, Destrehan, LA in 1984. While at Destrehan, Alfred excelled in basketball and aspired to attend college on a basketball scholarship. His passion for basketball and sports in general helped him to develop the self-discipline and work ethics that led him to a fulfilling career at Lear Corporation, a subsidiary of General Motors, in Arlington, TX for eleven years. His dedication and hard work were admired by his supervisors and co-workers alike.
Alfred married his childhood sweetheart, Zina Daigs Royal on September 16, 2006, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. They were blessed with
one son, Alfred Royal, Jr., who brought immense joy and pride into their lives. Alfred was known for his kindness, generosity and sense of humor. As a sports enthusiast, Alfred spent a great deal of time watching sporting events with friends and relatives. His enthusiasm for sports was contagious, inspiring others to join in and share the joy. He
would often break out the grill or boil seafood for family and friends. Alfred also loved Mardi Gras in New Orleans with family and friends. He would often come home to St. Rose to
celebrate his birthday which is always within a few days of Mardi Gras.
