Alice Kay Kliss, 74, of Berwick, died Sunday, August 3, 2025 peacefully surrounded by her family and friends, and went into the loving arms of her late adoring husband Joseph, and her Savior.

Born April 4,1951, the adopted daughter of the late Kersey and Helen (Malencore) Bankes, she was affectionately known throughout her life as "Cookie."

She was a graduate of Berwick High School and worked many jobs, but loved working at Kmart in Williston, North Dakota and as a pharmacy technician at the Giant store in Berwick.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Berwick.

Cookie loved going camping and sitting under the stars by a roaring campfire with her beloved husband Joe for many years. She loved gardening, growing lots of flowers, cooking, and of course wanted to win every game of cards, Yahtzee, and Scrabble with family and friends. Cookie adored raising many pets throughout the years, and loved to hang out with many friends in Berwick who gave her such joy and happiness.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 38 years, Joe; she loved nephew Allen Kliss, and sister-in-law Louise Rozycki.

Cookie leaves behind her adored brother-in-law David (Joanne) Kliss, and sisters-in-law Marty (Ken) Miller and Joanne Edwards. She loved her nephews, Aaron Kliss, Scott and Ken Miller and Michael Rozycki, and adored her nieces Andrea (Andrew) Helms, and Maggie (David) Hiltner.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 12, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1730 Fowler Avenue, Berwick, with the Rev. William T. Barbee, her pastor, officiating as Celebrant.

Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Berwick.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any animal humane society of your choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Mayo Funeral Home, Inc., Berwick.
