Alice Ann Monsees Pridgen, 81, of Morehead City, NC, and formerly of LaGrange, NC, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 14, 2025, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Ann was born on December 26, 1943, in Lexington, NC, (Davidson County) to the late Chrales Vestal Monsees and Wilma Michael Monsees. She graduated from LaGrange High School and furthered her education at East Carolina University where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and her Master's Degree in Guidance. Ann spent her career teaching elementary students and as a High School Guidance Counselor.
Ann enjoyed reading, gardening, playing bridge, and spending time at the beach. She will be remembered as a caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Those remaining to cherish her memory are her daughter, Michele Pridgen Zeph and husband David of Beaufort; granddaughter, Elizabeth Anne Soriente and husband Gabe; great-grandson, Gray Soriente; and brothers, Jim Monsees and wife Mary of Kinston and Tom Monsees and wife Rhonda of LaGrange. Also surviving are her late husband's family, her brothers-in-law, Ed, Raymond, and David and their spouses; sisters-in-law, Faye, Janet, and Debbie; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Randolph Pridgen; sister-in-law, Pat; and brother-in-law, Marvin.
The family will celebrate Ann's life privately.
