Al was employed by the Village of Kalkaska for 30 years prior to his retirement. He also worked part-time in construction for his father-in-law, during that time.
Al enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, traveling and morel mushroom hunting. Al would talk about old cars, trucks, and tractors, especially Allis Chalmer's tractors. He liked to watch old TV Westerns and reality shows like Ice Road Truckers and Mountain Men.
Most of all, Al loved the Lord. You would often find him reading his Bible and Praying. He was devoted to his family, and his church family.
