Alma Lee McLaren Brockman, 84, of Dayton, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025, in Baytown, Tx.
Alma was born December 17, 1940, in Dayton, Kentucky to parents; Walter and Irene McLaren, where she was a graduate of Dayton High School. She was a former resident of Baytown, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past 29 years. Alma was a homemaker, who liked playing Bunco with her daughter and friends, and was known for playing the slot machines and refinishing antique furniture to sell at local shops in her free time. Alma enjoyed reading, gardening, crocheting, entertaining others, and especially caring for her family. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and her loving personality.
Mrs. Brockman was preceded in death by her parents, husband: James O. Brockman, sons: James "Jimbo" William Brockman, Daniel "Danny" Jay Brockman, and Steven Ronald Brockman, sisters: Betty Deller and Linda Siple, brother: Walt "Baldy" McLaren, and brothers-in-law: Clarence "Snook" Brockman, Robert "Bob" Brockman, George Siple, and Jerry Davis. She is survived by her daughter: Donna DeHoyos and son in law Mark, sisters: Mary Davis, Connie MeQuueary, and Peggy Dunn, brothers: Michael McLaren and Danny McLaren, grandchildren: Alexandra "Ali" Michel and husband Marc, Arika Pequeno and husband Christian, Cody Brockman, Crystal Brockman, Heather Brockman, Coraline Brockman, and J.C. Brockman, great-grandchildren: Bentley Kaeden King and Everly Josephine Michel, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12p.m., with funeral services at 12:00 p.m., Friday, March 7, 2025, at the Sterling Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at Sterling White Cemetery in Highlands.
