Obituary of Alvin Henry Boenker III
Alvin Henry Boenker III, founder of The Al Boenker Insurance Agency, Inc. and other insurance platforms, passed away on March 29, 2024, after decades of building family, friendship, and enterprise.
"My father was a larger-than-life character who was loved by those close to him and those he met in passing," shared his son and ABI / Alinsco Chairman Al Boenker IV. "He was the living example of a Texas gentleman with a gracious spirit and a heart the size of Texas. The personality millions saw in his TV commercials over five decades was the man he was at all times."
Al passed away surrounded by family after a short illness. He is survived by his son, Al Boenker IV and daughter-in-law Gloria Boenker; daughter, Ashley Osborn and son-in-law Byron Osborn; and grandchildren, Joelie, Oaklie, Quinlie, Cameron, Cole and Trigger.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Sue Nell Boenker, and his grandson, Al Boenker V.
Al was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. He attended Castleberry High School and married the love of his life, Sue Boenker on December 5, 1970.
Al Boenker opened his insurance agency in September of 1972 in Fort Worth, Texas, on Jacksboro Highway and built an insurance organization that included an agency, a managing general agency, and an insurance company serving Texas. He also founded a corporation in Mexico serving the Republic of Mexico. His wife, Sue Boenker, built one of the largest Allstate agencies in the United States.
Al loved his grandchildren deeply. He listened to Christmas music all year long and carried the joy of the season with him at all times.
His faith in Jesus Christ was the pivot point of all he said and did in life.
"My mom and dad were a wonderful example of godly marriage. Their example of loving God first, family second, and then others was a foundation in our home. They had loving hearts and cared for people and taught us to do the same," said daughter Ashley Osborn.
A Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Willow Park Baptist Church, 777 Crown Pointe Blvd., Willow Park, Texas.
If sending flowers, please send them to the church to arrive between 9 and 10:30 am on April 10th.

I only had the opportunity to know Al through seeing him at school events, where our daughter, and his granddaughter, went to school, in the early years (Kindergarten, First, Second....). He was always very gracious to "talk shop," as we were both were in the insurance business. He really had a knack for the business and marketing and I thought it was genius how he connected his and his bride's two businesses to create the powerhouse that they became. Another friend of ours (also in the insurance business) used to just sit in awe of Al...but Al never talked down to others, regardless of how high he seemed to climb in his success. Undoubtedly he had his priorities straight : God --> Family --> Others... But since his positions with God and Family were well established, he seemed to have no problem, taking time for others.... Sorry for his kids and grandkids that he is gone from this world, so early... What a blessing he was to each of you and all. God Bless.

THE FIRST TIME I MET MR. BOENKER WAS WHEN I WAS HELPING MY FATHER IN LAW SET UP HIS CHRISTMAS TREE AT HIS OFFICE AND HOME. ALL I CAN SAY IS HE IS A VERY NICE GUY AND ALWAYS HAD A SMILE ON HIS FACE. I COULD ALWAYS REMEMBER HEARING HIM SINGING IN HIS OFFICE. NOW HE IS IN HEAVEN WITH SUE AND JESUS SINGING. GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERY FAMILY & FRIEND THAT KNEW HIM.

I hate to hear of your passing. We have been friends for over 50 something years. I remember Chad & Quad playing here at my place. I am sure Sue was there with open arms. I remember a few months ago when we were sitting in your office & I said maybe I should have gotten in the insurance business instead of the Western Business. You laughed pretty good on that one. You will be missed my friend. R. I. P. I will always remember our memories together

His Christmas commercials & kind voice proclaiming, " It's all about Jesus & His good news to all man, He's the hope of the world!" He will be missed.

Quad, Ashley and family,

I'm so sorry for your loss, and your family is in our prayers. Your dad was always larger than life, and I remember sneaking around his office with Sunni when we were 5 or 6 years old.

Sitting around the card table at his house on White Settlement Rd. Always a good time. Ran hard with his youngest brother David. God got a good soul with this one. See you again some day.

There is no man like Uncle Al, and there never will be. I was always inspired by his faith in the Lord and his zest for life! Everyone left his presence feeling seen, valued, and cared for. It was an honor to call him "Uncle Al," even for just a short 8 years. He left an incredible legacy! We love you, miss you, and can“t wait to see you and Aunt Sue together again in Heaven!
