Amerigo Valentino Cieri passed away peacefully with his family by his side on March 2, 2024. Born in Fresagrandinaria, Chieti, Italy, he was the beloved son of the late Michael and Loreta Cieri (nee Dallessandro).
Amerigo was a dedicated husband of 74 years to Angiolina (Melchiorre), cherished father to the late Michael "Lino" Cieri, Marilena Cieri (Greg), and Gianfranco Cieri, doting grandfather to Ross (Amy), Grant (Maddison), Alanna (Noah), Matthew, Zachary, great grandfather to Collette and two on the way, dear brother to Rosina, Domenico, Maria, Annunziata, Settimio and Rita, uncle to many and friend to countless. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
Amerigo spent significant time in Germany and France, where he worked tirelessly to provide for his family. His journey eventually led him to America in 1973, where he settled with his beloved family, embracing new opportunities and challenges with characteristic resilience.
A devoted husband and father, Amerigo poured his heart and soul into his work, diligently laboring in various construction fields to ensure the well-being of his loved ones.
In his moments of respite, Amerigo found solace and joy in his garden, where he nurtured the soil and tended to his beloved plants with care and dedication. His green thumb and passion for gardening reflected his nurturing spirit and ability to find beauty in the simplest of pleasures.
Amerigo's greatest joy was his family, who will miss him deeply. We take comfort in knowing that he has been reunited with his son Michael, his parents, and siblings and in the loving embrace of God in heaven.
Relatives and friends are invited to Amerigo's Life Celebration on Saturday, March 9, 2024, from 9 am to 9:50 am, with his Funeral Mass to follow at 10 am, all at Visitation BVM Church of Norristown, 190 N Trooper Rd. Interment to follow at Washington Memorial Chapel Cemetery of Valley Forge.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations in Amerigo's name be made to Envision, Inc., a not-for-profit organization based in Wichita, Kansas, United States. Envision promotes advocacy and independence for those who are blind or low vision. https://www.envisionus.com/in-memory-of-amerigo
