Andrew J. Allen

Andrew Joseph Allen, age 26, of Mayfield, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 while vacationing in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Born on June 30, 1997, in Gloversville, NY, he was the son of Tina Avery-Knapp and Edward Knapp.
Andrew graduated from Gloversville High School. For the past 7 years, Andrew worked as a direct support staff at Lexington in Johnstown, NY. He loved, admired, and respected the people he worked with as well as those he took care of. Andrew made it a point to stop in and say hello to everyone, even on his days off. Andrew was the epitome of what love and loyalty represents. He will be remembered by so many, for his smile, laughter, personality, and his love of life. Andrew was a loyal son, brother, nephew, cousin, partner, and friend. He loved to be around people and was always on the go. He had a way of making everyone feel special. Andrew was all about his family. He was an angel who walked on this earth and we are so blessed to have had him in our lives for 26 years. The biggest heart. The biggest smile. Andrew was and will always be a beautiful soul.
In addition to his mother and father, Andrew is survived by his brothers Nakeya Avery and Marcus Allen (Breaunna); stepbrother Jason Knapp (Meghan); sisters, Madelyn Avery "Mad Dog", Sophia Knapp "Fifi", Aliyah Allen (Grant); Aunt, Diana Avery; Uncle, Robert Martens (Jeffrey); Partner, Nathan Cowles, as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and very close friends, whom he adored. He is also survived by Keith Allen and family.
Andrew was predeceased by his grandparents Ronald and June Claflin; Great Uncle Robert Huddleston; and stepbrother Charles Knapp.
Calling hours for family and friends will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023 from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown, NY.
