Andrew Mayer Ash

Pittsford – Andrew Mayer Ash, age 68, passed away peacefully, on Saturday, March 2, 2024. He is survived by two children, Spencer (Nichole) Ash and Haley (Stephen) Faro; two sisters, Nancy (Bob) Finger and Alison (Jim) Price; partner in life and loving friend, Carol Russo; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his infant daughter, Victoria Grace Ash in 1992; and nephew, Grant Lintala in 2002.
Andy was born in Rochester and was the son of John and Martha (Montague) Ash. He grew up in Pittsford and graduated from Pittsford Mendon High School, class of 1974. He has many lifelong friends from high school that still get together for annual clam bakes. After high school graduation, he attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida, with hopes of becoming an Air Force pilot. Unfortunately, wearing eyeglasses prevented him from flying. Andy earned a bachelor's degree in finance from Kent State University. He held many jobs in his life, including Burroughs Corp., Central Trust Bank and Gardall Safe Corp. Andy was well traveled throughout the United States, Europe and the Caribbean. He proudly wore clothing that commemorated his travels throughout his life. Andy enjoyed hiking, astronomy and boating on Canandaigua Lake.
He will be remembered for his quick wit, dry sense of humor, nicknames for loved ones and enjoying a good party.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, March 16, from 11am -3pm, at the Vine Valley Community House, 6369 Vine Valley Road, Middlesex, NY 14507. A service of remembrance will begin at 11:30am, with food to follow. We encourage all to wear travel destination apparel.
