Andrew Bane Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Inc. on Mar. 3, 2026.
It is with deep sorrow and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Andrew Bane, 54 of Leonardo, NJ on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, in Hazlet, New Jersey.

Andrew was born on November 21, 1971 in Red Bank, New Jersey to Joan and Harold Bane Sr. Andrew was a lifelong resident of Leonardo where he was raised and graduated from Middletown High School South. Andrew was a member of Saint Agnes Catholic Church, Brevent Park and Leonardo Fire Company, Navesink Hook and Ladder and the Atlantic Highlands Fire Department. Andrew served on the Middletown Township Fire Department's Relief Committee, helping those in need and served in numerous roles throughout the years as Secretary, Engineer, Lieutenant, Captain, Vice-President, and President. Andrew was a member and past commander of the Sons of the American Legion Family Post #338. If there was a need, Andrew could be counted on to help.

Andrew was employed by the Township of Middletown in the Department of Public Works and was a member of the Middletown Township Zoning Committee.

As an avid movie lover, Andrew became an actor, filmmaker and a founder of Leonardo Boyz Productions. He co-wrote, produced, and starred in The House at 831, Gone for the Weekend, What Lives Here, and the series On Our Own. He thrived in his storytelling and portrayal of unique individuals in his independent films. Andrew was a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild and was known for helping others as a mentor in his field. Andrew had a kind, creative, and generous spirit.

Andrew was predeceased by his mother, Joan (Poole) Bane. Andrew is survived by his father, Harold Bane Sr., his brothers, Harold (Mary), Terence (Mary), and James, his nieces and nephews Nora Feeney, Harold Bane III, Megan Bane, Tyler Bane, Cooper Bane, and Wesley Bane. His great-nieces and nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Andrew is survived by his lifelong friend Troy (Michelle) Burbank and his godsons Nicholas Burbank and Troy Burbank Jr., along with their siblings Jesse, Luke, and Logan, who were Andrew's beloved extended family. Andrew is also survived by friends too numerous to count. He will be remembered as someone who loved his family and friends, loved to laugh and make people laugh. Andrew loved life and was the life of any party.

If the measure of a man's life is how well he enjoyed living, loved, and was loved in return, then the life of Andrew Bane was lived to the fullest with the blessings of family, friends, community, and purpose. He celebrated life's moments and dedicated himself to the service of others.

Andrew was a friend indeed as he filled the lives he touched with laughter, joy, and fun. He was a helper and an encourager. All who knew him will honor his memory and will love him without ceasing until we meet again.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday March 10, 2026 from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm at the John F. Pfleger Funeral Home 115 Tindall Road Middletown, New Jersey.

Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday March 11, 2026 at 10am at Saint Agnes Catholic Church, 103 Center Avenue, Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Deborah Heart and Lung Center and/or Brevent Park and Leonardo Fire Company.

The family wishes to thank the community for their love and support.

Andrew Bane - Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord.
