Andrew (Andy) Mourikes, age 64, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025. Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He is survived by his adoring wife, Aagii and their daughter Andrea. Loving son of Joanne and the late Themis Mourikes. Fond son-in-law of Mukhgerel Bilgee. Brother-in-law of Crystal Barnes and Anika Agee. He was a beloved cousin, nephew and the favorite uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was a devoted godfather to many and his life was enriched through the deep relationships he had with his many loving Koubari. He also leaves behind countless other loving family members and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Andy was preceded in death by his loving father, Themis Mourikes (1993) who was a guiding force for Andy, throughout his life. While he enjoyed the city life, he treasured his summers on the island of Cephalonia, Greece-his father's birthplace-which always held a special place in his heart.
A proud graduate of Lane Tech High School, Andy continued his studies at Northeastern University. Soon, he went on to join his family's business International Foods, where he developed a deep appreciation for food, culture, and community.
Andy loved to travel with family and friends. It was on one of his many journeys, in 2003, that he met the love of his life and his eternal partner and wife, Aagii. In 2022, Andy and Aagii welcomed their greatest gift, their daughter Andrea, who brought Andy immense pride and happiness. Together, Andy and Aagii shared 21 joyful years of marriage filled with laughter, love, and mutual respect. His love for his family was unconditional and Andy's loving presence will remain forever in their hearts.
Andy found peace and joy in the water. Whether exploring coral reefs or swimming at the beach in Cephalonia a reflection of his free spirit and deep connection to nature. Andy was committed to preserving the cultural heritage of his beloved Cephalonia and was a committed member and a longtime leader of the Cephalonia Brotherhood of Chicago. Andy was also a proud member of the AHEPA Shoreline Chapter #380.
Andy was rooted in his Greek Orthodox faith, which guided his life and values. His spirituality was quiet but steadfast, and he found comfort and meaning in the traditions of the Greek Church. His faith, combined with his kind heart, shaped the way he treated others-with respect and compassion. Known for his warmth and boundless generosity, Andy had many longlasting friendships and held close ties with loved ones both in the United States and Greece. Andy touched countless lives with his joyful spirit and open heart.
