Andrew Rossetti, 64, died Thursday, May 22, 2025, after a lengthy health battle. Andy was born in Decatur, Illinois and grew up in Granby, CT where he graduated from Granby High School and began working for Walter Simmons and Sons as an equipment repair mechanic.
His career with the East Granby Resident State Troopers Office began in 1986, and he served his community for twenty-seven years. Andy received the Distinguished Service Award, Outstanding Service Award, and Life Saving Award from the Connecticut State Police, and was promoted to Sergeant in 2012. He was a familiar face in the hallways of the East Granby Public Schools, where his daughters attended, and could always be found with a small black coffee in his hand. He was a committed officer to the town of East Granby and enjoyed working jointly with the Connecticut State Police as well as past and present East Granby Officers.
When Andy wasn't working, he enjoyed spending summers with his family in Lake George, NY and Hampton Beach, NH. He also enjoyed the peace of working in the yard and tinkering with small engines. Everyone who knew Andy knew that he could fix just about anything, but what he loved most was his beloved truck, the Chevy Silverado, owning three of them throughout the years.
Andy is predeceased by his grand-dog, retired State Police K-9 Sig Sauer Holcombe, #9015, of Simsbury, CT. He is also predeceased by his parents, Lt. Col. Christopher Joseph Rossetti (USAR) and Ann Mary (Norcera) Rossetti.
Andy leaves his two daughters, Christina Rossetti and her husband George of Manchester; Lisa Holcombe and her husband Joshua of Simsbury; and eight grandchildren: Alex, Anna, Brianna, Madison, Matthew, Dallas, Fitz, and Jasmine.
He is also survived by his brothers, Christopher Rossetti, Jr., Robert "Jim" Rossetti and his wife Maryla, and his sisters Patricia Kosulavage and Joan Hastings.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the Town of East Granby, the East Granby Resident State Troopers Office, the Connecticut State Police, and Lindsay of Beacon Hospice for their compassion and continued support.
Calling hours will be Sunday, June 1, 2025, from 2:00-5:00PM at the Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook St, Granby. Burial will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025, 11:00AM at Elmwood Cemetery, 18 Nicholson Road, East Granby.

My thoughts are with you and your family at this sad time.
At times like this I prefer to not dwell on what you have lost but rather on what YOU Had!
