Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cavanagh Family Funeral Homes, Inc. & Private Crematory - Norwood on Jan. 12, 2026.
Ann Mary McCormick (née Burns)
Ann, affectionately known as Mom Mom passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026.
Ann was born a true coal miner's daughter on August 4, 1932, in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania. She was raised in Darby–Colwyn and graduated from West Catholic High School.
In 1953, Ann married the love of her life, Bill. Together they shared many wonderful years and raised their family in Folcroft, where Ann resided until her passing.
Ann was truly the Queen of Christmas, our own Santa Annie, making every birthday, holiday, and family celebration feel magical and special. She loved Wildwood, going to the movies, traveling, concerts, and spending time with her girlfriends-always ready with the latest scoop, a die-hard Philly sports fan, Ann's greatest love was her family.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Ann took immense pride in her family and was the cornerstone that kept us all together. She was a longtime and active member of Saint Gabriel's Parish in Norwood.
Ann was predeceased by her beloved husband, William H. McCormick; her brother, Paul Burns; and her sister, Margaret D'Amore.
She is survived by her sister, Kathleen Niblo (John); her children, William McCormick, Timothy McCormick (Barbara), and Joanne Barr (Robert); her grandchildren, Dana (Brian), Mark, Nicholas, Charles Joseph, and Timothy (Beth)
and her great-grandchildren, Daniel, Jack, and Evelyn.
as well as many nieces, nephews and friends
Mom Mom was a very special part of our lives, she taught us to forgive and love each other no matter what, she was truly a great lady. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation Saturday, January 17,2026, 9:30 AM- 10:30 AM, at St Gabriel Church, 233 Mohawk Ave, Norwood, PA 19074, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Burial in S.S. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
