Anna L. Burgert

Mrs. Anna L. (Loeb) Burgert, 92, of Leesport, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at her home.

Born February 25, 1932 in Oley Township, Anna was the daughter of the late Oscar M. and Florence K. (Snyder) Loeb. She and the love of her life, her husband of 72 years, Chester A. Burgert, were married on November 1, 1952 in Schwarzwald Reformed Church, Jacksonwald.

Anna was a 1950 graduate of Oley Valley High School and worked for Temple Apparel for 20 years as a sewing machine operator. She also worked as a waitress at Leesport Market for 13 years.

Anna was a member of Maidencreek Church, Blandon, and former member of Swamp United Church of Christ, Reinholds. She was a member of the Easter Star Sylvan Chapter #251, Reading, and a charter member of the Blandon Lioness Club. She spent over 20 years knitting caps for newborns at Reading Hospital.

In addition to her husband, Chester, Anna is survived by her nieces and nephews, and by her extended family, Christine L. (Gerhart) Messner, wife of Michael A. Messner, and her family.

Along with her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her siblings, Grace Hoffman, Harold Loeb, Ralph Loeb, Erma Bauer, Naomi Kegerise, and John Loeb.

Services for Anna will be announced at a later date.
