Annette C. Goedde

Annette Goedde (nee Wannemuehler) passed away on September 29, 2025, at the age of 90. She is survived by her eight children, Brenda (Tim) Born, Deb (Mark) Garvey, Steve Goedde, Mike (Soozie) Goedde, Don (Ginny) Goedde, Kathy (Vince) Boots, Julie (Mike) Sellers, and Chris (Leslie) Goedde, and by 24 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a brother, Larry (Linda) Wannemuehler. In death, Annette joins Marvin, her beloved husband of 65 years, who passed away in 2021. She was also preceded in death by her father, Bernard, and her mother, Rose. Annette was an Evansville native and lifelong west-sider whose life was a testament to her love of faith and family. Over the years, she served the Church and Catholic education through myriad volunteer responsibilities at Sacred Heart Church and Mater Dei High School. She and Marvin were awarded the Brute Award in recognition of their outstanding Christian stewardship and service to the Evansville Diocese. She was a tireless supporter of the Mater Dei Wildcats, and for many years, along with Marvin, ran the concession stand at Mater Dei, and later at USI Baseball. In addition to her volunteer work, and her vocations as mother and homemaker, she was also a devoted babysitter, card-club member, and quilter, and she enjoyed the St. Boniface Lunch Bunch. The Goedde home was a friendly, bustling place, and Annette was never happier than when it was filled with family, with the latest great-grandchild on her lap. Those who knew Annette are grateful to have had the example of her love, her selflessness, and her practical knack for managing a large family and making a positive difference in the community. Annette's family extends their gratitude to the loving staff at Heart to Heart Hospice House, and to her children and their spouses for their dedicated care. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM, at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin St. There will be a memorial service held at 6:30 PM Thursday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2701 W. Franklin St., on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 10:00 AM, preceded by visitation in the church from 9:30 AM until Mass time. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery will follow Mass.
