Annie Mae McClure

Mrs. Annie Neal McClure (Ann) of Archdale died on October 16, 2025.

She was born August 1, 1933, in Randolph County, the tenth child in a family of eleven children, to James Virgil Neal and Ethel Miles Neal. She was a resident of this area all her life. She also was a member of New Heights Baptist Church, a church family she loved. She was devoted to her family and her church and deeply cherished the fellowship of her congregation for as long as her health allowed. On April 9, 1971, she married Frank McClure, who preceded her in death on September 13, 2004.

She was preceded in death by six sisters, Ruby Hiatte (Parker), Jewel Neal, Opal Tuttle (John), Frances Coltrane (Earl), Doris Bame (Bob), Bonnie Joyce, and three brothers, Edward Neal, Howard Neal, and Albert Neal, and also by her grandson Justin Hanna.

Surviving are eight children, Debbie Sanger (Mark), Barbara Hanson (John), Joyce Noah (Eddie), Kathy Hanna, Roger McClure (June), Karen Courtney, Darrell McClure (Donna) and Devon Hensley (Penny), one sister, Etheline Marsh (Joe), and eleven grandchildren.

A funeral will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 19, 2025, in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, with the Reverend Roger Porter officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 12:45 PM to 1:45 PM. Internment will follow the service at Poplar Ridge Friends Meeting Cemetery.
