Anthony Andrus Obituary
Beyond his love for his family, Anthony's other passion was sports, primarily baseball and golf. Anthony proudly served as the Varsity Baseball Coach with Jerry Lubanski at Shrine High School for 13 years. He could never get enough of watching the kids grow and develop as players throughout the years. Any game at Shrine's gym would not be complete without Anthony and Patricia in their customary spots at half court. In addition to his coaching abilities, he was quite the athlete himself. Anthony was an avid golfer, teeing it up every Tuesday and Thursday at Royal Oak Golf Course with some of his best buddies, and even bowled 10 perfect games and an 800 series.
Anthony was the beloved husband of Patricia Andrus; the cherished father of Kristine (Joseph) Lynch, Anthony E. (Heather) Andrus III, and Jeffrey (Natalie) Andrus; the very proud Poppa of Joseph Lynch, Kathryn Lynch, Allison Lynch, Grace Andrus, Jeffrey Andrus Jr., Alicia Andrus, and Ava Andrus; and the dear brother of Gary (Dianna) Andrus, Linda (Michael) Somers, and Brian Andrus.
Visitation will be held at Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home, 2125 12 Mile Road, Berkley, Michigan 48072, Tuesday, March 8, 2022 from 2:00 until 8:00 PM with a scripture service at 6:00 PM. Anthony will then lay in state on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at the National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica, 2100 12 Mile Road, Royal Oak, Michigan 48073, beginning at 9:30 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Following the funeral Anthony will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield, Michigan.
