Anthony "Tony" M. Murphy, 49, of St. Charles, IL died Wednesday July 2nd 2025, at Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva.
He was born January 21, 1976, in Peoria, IL, the son of Mike & Cheryl (Myers) Murphy. He has two children; Bella & Brig Murphy of Eastchester, NY, they survive along with his mother of Chillicothe, IL, sister Addi Mercer (Keith) of Edelstein, IL and nieces & nephew; Brynn, Brie & Brayden Mercer.
He was preceded in death by his father and infant brother, Tobi Murphy.
Tony attended both Illinois Wesleyan University & Bradley University as part of the 3-2 engineering program, while at IWU he also played two years of Football. He graduated with both a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from IWU and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Bradley. Tony was employed by Sargent & Lundy as a Senior Project Manager Power Delivery with emphasis on Transmission Line Design and Construction since 2001. He was instrumental in leading various construction projects across Illinois, Indiana & Arizona.
Funeral services will be Wednesday July 9, 2025 at 11 am at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday July 8th, 2025 from 5-8 pm. Additional visitation will be one hour before services. Burial will be at Chillicothe City Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a luncheon at Arrowhead Country Club immediately following services.
