Anthony was born on July 1st, 1940 and passed away on
January 31st, 2025 at the age of 84Anthony Scerba Sr., born July 1, 1940, and affectionately known as Tony, was a charismatic man, whose courageous spirit and resilient nature shone through in every aspect of his life. He was a man of many stories, each one as vivid and memorable as the last. His brilliant wit and insightful humor made him the life of every gathering and a treasured echo in the hearts of all who knew him.
Anthony's passion for life was evident in his hobbies. He was an avid bowler, who was passionate about his bowling league. His love for game shows and old westerns was infectious, often inspiring cinematic marathons. A dedicated worker, Anthony was an esteemed employee at Thomas Steel until an accident, a testament to his resilient spirit. His fondness for Polish food was a tribute to his heritage, a legacy passed down from his father, Steve Scerba, who used to sing to him in Polish, and his Italian mother, Vera Cavella. Anthony's remarkable ability to remember every memory as if it had just happened made him a living chronicle of his life and family history. Cindy Knight and Cameron Edwards helped cared for him, with Cindy spending 5 years as a caregiver. They became family and along with Anthony Scerba 3rd, stayed by his side until he peacefully passed.
Anthony is survived by his grandchildren, Anthony Scerba III and Heather Scerba. He was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Scerba Jr, and his parents, Steve Scerba and Vera Cavella. His close-knit circle of lifelong friends, and the bond he shared with his son, were the cornerstones of Anthony's life.
In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "It is not length of life, but depth of life." And it is without a doubt that Anthony lived a deeply fulfilling life, touching countless hearts with his charisma, courage, resilience, and wit.
