Antoinette L. Raskauskas, 86, of Windsor, formerly East Granby, wife of the late John L. Raskauskas, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 10, 2025.
Antoinette was born in Hartford and raised in the Rainbow section of Windsor, daughter of the late Rocco Vincent Jr. and Mary Elizabeth (Scirica) Mazziotto. She attended Windsor High School and later cosmetology school where she received her hairdresser's license. She worked at BelAir Beauty Salon in Windsor, where she enjoyed socializing with co-workers and clients, forming many lasting friendships.
Antoinette lived a life full and was happiest when caring for others. Throughout the years she discovered many ways to show her love and care for those who mattered most to her.
Gifted with exceptional talent in textile crafts, Antoinette served as the family seamstress, tailor, quilter, knitter and crocheter. Over the years, she created countless heirlooms for her family, including doilies, curtains, quilts, wedding gowns, and prom dresses, to name a few. With a generous heart, she also donated many hand-knit hats and gloves to homeless and women's shelters. Always eager to take on projects for others, she continued crocheting until her final days.
Antoinette was a wonderful cook, and nothing brought her more joy than planning a meal and cooking for family and friends. Whether she was serving her famous spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna, or even a peanut butter & jelly toast, she was happiest in the kitchen preparing food for others to enjoy.
Antoinette was loved by all who knew her. She had a special ability to connect with people on many levels. Her free spirit, acceptance, and understanding offered support and reassurance to many. With her trademark humor, quick wit, and sass, she had a unique way of brightening every conversation. She had an infectious personality and loved deeply.
At the center of Antoinette's life was her family. She had close relationships with her siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends, and was especially close to her sister Lucy Ann, who will miss her greatly.
Antoinette found her greatest purpose and joy in being a mother and grandmother. She put her children first and took pride in raising them with love and unwavering support. She also played an extraordinary role in her the lives of her grandchildren, watching them after school, living alongside them, and helping raise them with the same love and warmth that defined her life. She was the heart of the household; a steady presence whose influence shaped her family for generations. Antoinette will be missed dearly and leaves a legacy of beautiful memories that will live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Antoinette leaves her daughters, Linda Blaszka of Seymour and Karen Vesce of Enfield; her grandchildren, Emma Mathieu, Liam Vesce, and Otto Blaszka; her sister, Lucy Ann Spakauskas; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, Mary Jean Lefreniere, Rocco Mazziotto III, and Joseph Mazziotto.
Her family will receive friends on Thursday, October 16, 4-6 p.m., at Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. Burial will be private.
