Arthur N. Boyajian of Paramus, N.J., passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025, at the age of 80.
The family will be receiving condolences on Sunday June 22nd from 4pm-8pm and on Monday June 23rd, from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm at William Basralian Funeral Service, 559 Kinderkamack Rd. in Oradell, N.J. Funeral services will be on Tuesday June 24th, at 11:30am at Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church, 461 Bergen Blvd., Ridgefield, N.J. 07657, with interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, 234 Paramus Rd., Paramus N.J. 07652.
Born in Manhattan and raised in Astoria, Arthur graduated from Stuyvesant High School, (an all-male technical high school) before enlisting in the National Guard and taking college night classes. He stopped the classes after a year, completed his service in the National Guard with an honorable discharge and put his energies into establishing his career. He was employed at Metropolitan Life Insurance, starting in their mailroom and working his way up to Assistant Vice President of Group Systems Management before retiring 36 years later. He was a member of the men's clubs at Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Church and St. Leon Armenian Church and had been the president of the Sts. Vartanantz Men's Club for many years. He had been on the Tivan of the Knights of Vartan since joining in 1993 and only stepped down from the role in 2003.
Although initially concerned about keeping busy after retiring, it was not uncommon to see him walking at the Garden State Plaza 3 mornings a week with friends and socializing over coffee afterwards, playing cards with the seniors in town, playing cards at the local Armenian churches, visiting the local Armenian Old Age Home with friends to play music for the residents and willingly helping his fellow Armenian friends and organizations when requested. On occasion he enjoyed going with friends to the Meadowlands, Atlantic City, and various local casinos. He enjoyed bowling and golf – both playing and watching on tv – as well as watching the New York Yankees and New York Giants.
He is survived by his loving children, Anne and Louis Trozzo of Haskell, N.J., Barbara and Alexander Villiard of Northvale, N.J., and Sandra and Christopher Morath of
Paramus, NJ, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Angela, Anthony, Edward, Madeline, Katherine and Alexander. He is also survived by his cousins Charlene Apigian and Stephanie Stein (Ted), sisters-in-law Val Nemetz and Carole Boyajian, brother-in-law Thomas Bozian (Mariana), many nieces and nephews, companion Jeanette Mosgofian and an array of family and friends. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Karen Boyajian, parents Manoog (Mike) and Alma Boyajian, brothers Kenneth (Berge) and Peter Boyajian, Uncle John Boyajian (Anita), Aunt Nevart Kuzirian (Charles), Uncle Peter Kevorkian (Margaret), cousins James Kuzirian (Elizabeth) and Kim Boyajian, sisters-in-law Arax Noel and Gladys Bozian, brothers-in-law Victor Nemetz and Bruce Noel, and cousin-in-law Ardash Apigian.
