Arthur J. "Art" Murphy III

Arthur J. Murphy III, 69, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025. Born on March 30, 1956, he was the son of the late Arthur J. Murphy Jr. and Dorothy A. (Ferguson) Murphy.

Arthur was born and raised in Lynn, he graduated from Lynn Tech, class of 1974, and later attended New England School of Photography, where he graduated in 1976. Arthur was a hard worker and handy man, he worked in construction and eventually became an owner of a General Contracting business, Perry Murphy Construction out of Newburyport. Arthur was an avid golfer, he was a member of the Amesbury Golf and Country Club, as well as the Indian Mound Golf Club. He loved spending time at his second home in Ossipee, NH, spending his summers on Lake Ossipee, and spending winters skiing in the White Mountains to include Bretton Woods. He was a joyous, positive, and welcoming man who showed everyone nothing but love and support.

He will be dearly missed and is survived by Lisa Murphy, who he married in 1990, loving sons, Shawn Michael Murphy of Beverly, MA, Ross Patrick Murphy of Amesbury, MA, and Madison James Murphy of Amesbury, MA. He is also survived by his two sisters Patricia Gail Ford of Laconia, NH, and Mabel Hardy Melanson of Salisbury, MA.

His Funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at 10:00AM from the Solimine Funeral Home 426 Broadway (RTE129), Lynn followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00AM in St. Mary's Church, Lynn. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Tuesday, August 26, 2025 from 4:00PM-8:00PM.
