Astrida R. Sinteff

Astrida R. Sinteff, 87, of Whiting, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 10, 2025. Astrida was a dedicated Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, and Friend to all who knew her.
She is predeceased by her husband, William J. Sinteff, Sr, her son, William J. Sinteff, Jr her daughter, Linda A. Davis, her parents Karlis and Mirdza Rusins, her brother Inars Rusins, her nephew Lars Rusins, and her niece Jessica Lyn Yantz.
Astrida will be forever held in the hearts of her surviving family, her daughter Laura Schaeffer (Scott,) of Blackwood, NJ, her son Robert Sinteff, of Tampa, Florida, her grandchildren, Stephanie Schaeffer (Lee Martin,) Geoffrey Schaeffer (Jen,) Colin Davis (Alex Brockway,) Kevin Davis (Erin,) Kurtis Sinteff, and Sarah Sinteff, and her great-grandchildren Brooklyn Schaeffer, Nora Schaeffer, Hannah Schaeffer, Beckham Davis, and Crew Davis, her sister Elga Rusins and her former daughter-in-law Heather Sinteff. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her nieces, nephews, cousins and sisters-and-brothers-in-law.
Astrida was born in Riga, Latvia on June 30, 1938, and emigrated with her parents and siblings to the United States in 1949. She graduated from New Brunswick High School and attended Rutgers University where she met her husband, Bill. They raised their four children in Plainfield and East Windsor, NJ. After she lost her beloved husband, Astrida moved to Little Egg Harbor, NJ where she enjoyed her volunteer work at the JC NERR Coastal Education Center, Tuckerton Seaport, and the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge.
Astrida will always be remembered for her devotion to her family, and to all her dogs. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Latvian Association, 400 Hurley Avenue, Rockville, MD, 20850.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 1pm to 5pm at the Carmona Bolen Home for Funerals, 412 Main St., Toms River, NJ.
