Austin D. Howell

MUNCIE – Austin D. Howell, 24, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday evening, August 19, 2021.
He was born on March 22, 1997 in Houston, Texas the son of Melissa J. Howell. Austin graduated from Cowan High School in 2015 and attended Ball State University.
He worked the last few years in the Deli at Walmart North in Muncie and enjoyed his co-workers. He enjoyed swimming, the U.F.C., loved all animals, plants and his aquarium. Austin was quite the storyteller and had a vivid imagination. He loved listening to podcasts and reading, especially about politics and religion and enjoyed playing video games.
Surviving are his mother, Melissa J. Howell of Muncie; his "fur sister", Ms. Black; grandfather, Don Howell (wife, Janette) of Arenzville, IL; several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins; and his cat, Kinley.
He was preceded in death by his grandma who was like a second mother to him, Gloria J. Cannon on July 16, 2021; his grandma-great and papa Jerry; and his beloved dog, Bear.
Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 7901 W. Isanogel Road, Muncie, with Pastor Joe Hines officiating. Cremation will take place following services.
Family and friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 7901 W. Isanogel Road, Muncie, from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 25, 2021.
