Barbara H. Bosselman

Barbara Hedgepeth Bosselman, 86, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Raby and Violet O'Berry Hedgepeth. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Carl Bosselman.
Barbara was a lifelong member of Providence United Methodist Church. She held many roles in the church including choir director and finance chairman for many years. Barbara was strong in her faith and read her devotionals every day. She was on her third reading of the Bible and took away something different each time she read it.
Barbara was the daughter and wife of farmers, so she never shied away from hard work. She expected and demanded that things be done correctly each time and always held herself to that same standard. After being a stay-at-home wife and mother for many years, she went back to work full-time and attended Paul D. Camp Community College where she received her associates degree. She last worked for the City of Portsmouth as an administrative assistant, then would come home to work in the garden and prepare a hot meal every evening.
She is survived by her son, David Bosselman and wife Audrey Page; daughter, Amy Muller and husband Bill; grandsons Brian Bosselman (Kortni), Hunter Bosselman (Alex), Thomas Muller, and Daniel Muller (Carly); great grandchildren, Wyatt Wirt, Brett, Brady, and Dottie Bosselman, and Lainey Muller; sister, Lee Ann H. Hinton; nieces, Crystal Wiedenhoeft (Wayne) and Candice Burnette. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Bitsy, who will miss her and all of the treats and snacks that Mom gave her.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025 at 2PM at Providence United Methodist Church. Burial will follow the service at Western Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. Everyone is invited back to the home of David and Audrey Page for a reception following the burial. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 8, 2025 from 6-7:30 PM at R. W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, Downtown Suffolk Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Providence United Methodist Church, 3109 Providence Rd., Suffolk, VA 23434-7219.
