CLIGROW
Barbara A. Cligrow passed away peacefully on March 24, 2022, following an extended illness.
She was born in Springfield, OH, on February 19, 1935, a daughter of William B. Bierbaugh and Thelma (Jones) Bierbaugh.
The family moved to London in 1937, where she resided the rest of her life. Barbara was a 1953 graduate of London High School where she served as a drum majorette. She was devoted to her family and was a loving mother, grandmother, and aunt. Barbara loved to sing and was a 67-year member of the First United Methodist Church sanctuary choir. During her lifetime, Barbara was active in many London community plays and choirs. After retiring from the Madison County Department of Jobs and Family Services, she learned to play a dulcimer and performed with area dulcimer groups. Barbara enjoyed traveling, history and was an avid reader. She was an active member of her church, the Twentieth Century Club, London Public Library and the Madison County Museum.
Survivors include her daughter, Beth (Gary) Pearman; son, Doug Cligrow; grandson, Nolan Cligrow and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Thomas H. Cligrow, brother William G. Bierbaugh and sister Beverly Dhume.
Honoring her request, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, April 1, 2022, in Kirkwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital at www.stjude.org/donate or to the Wounded Warriors Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org/donate.
