Barbara Leigh Curtiss-Daniels, age 96, of Pinellas Park, Fl, formerly of Weymouth, Ma, passed away on August 24, 2024. Born in Hingham as the daughter of Ralph and Alice (Cooper) Leigh in 1927.
Barbara was very active in the Wessagusset Eastern Star and the Demolay and Rainbow. Barbara was also the past president of the Geo R. Bean legion auxiliary in South Weymouth. She was a former Weymouth Police Crossing Guard for ten years and later, after moving to Florida, was a security guard for fifteen years. Barbara and her family loved traveling to different countries from where her many foreign exchange students were from. They had thirteen students.
Barbara is predeceased by husbands Alger B Curtiss and Harold Daniels, her brother Wallace, and sisters, Dorothy White and Marian MacLean. She is also predeceased by children Nancy Curtiss, Patricia Turner of Hull, Ralph Curtiss and Warren Curtiss both of Florida and grandson Brandon Turner.
She is survived by her daughter Donna Groom and husband Michael Groom of Plymouth and grandchildren Timothy Groom, David Groom, Leigh Bain and Christopher Turner, nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Services for Barbara will be private.
