Barry Michael Flint passed away at the age of 67 on September 24, 2025 in New Orleans, Louisiana after a brief illness. Barry is the son of the late Thomas James Flint, Jr. and Tullos Abadie Flint. Barry is survived by his wife, Patricia Bercy Flint, his children: Regina Flint Simone (John) of Chicago, Il, Brandi Flint, Brittany Flint Daniel (DeJuan), stepchildren, Victor Despenza (Stephanie), and his special nephew, Houston Flint of New Orleans.
Barry leaves his two sisters, Janice Flint Dolliole (Kevin, Sr.) of New Orleans and Tanya Flint Coleman (Hugh) of Spring Branch, TX; his brothers-in-law, Walter, Charles, Rowland, and Meloni; his sisters-in-law, Marlene Bercy, Geraldine Pichon, and Shirley Thomas. Barry is also survived by his aunts, Rosemary Flint Vignaud, Agnes Elaine Abadie August, Iris Flot Flint, Yvonne Abadie Parker, and Yvonne Price Abadie.
Barry was preceded in death by his beloved only brother, Thomas James Flint, III.
Barry's legacy will live on through his grandchildren: Vittorio and Giovanni Simone, Darius and Kalecia Joseph, Nyron Flint, Javonte Flint, Cai Allen, Dominique Brown, Victoria and Victor Despenza Jr.; two great-grandchildren: Oliver Dison, V and Moriah Pointer; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Barry was a life-long resident of New Orleans with a short stint in Los Angeles, CA. Barry was a master latherer and builder and leaves behind indelible reminders of the work of his hands.
Barry's life will be celebrated on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 9:00 am at Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Avenue, New Orleans. Pastor Ulysses Abadie, III will be the Officiant. Internment at Mt. Olivet will immediately follow. Family and friends are invited to attend. Arrangements by D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, New Orleans, LA.
