He was born on October 10, 1950, in Lafayette, IN, to the late Kenneth and Gertrude (Billue) McCabe. Barry graduated from Rossville High School in 1968 and attended Indiana University.
On May 15, 1971, he married Virginia Otten in Mulberry and she survives. Barry was a welder for A-Mac Welding in Lafayette and was an accomplished fabricator.
He was a former member of the Indiana Rocketry Association in Lafayette and enjoyed spelunking, shooting, mowing, bowling and reading.
Surviving along with his wife is his brother Brian (Helen) McCabe of Mulberry. Barry was preceded in death by his brother Gary McCabe.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, Rossville United Methodist Church, Rev. David Bushfield officiating. Interment will be at Wyandotte Cemetery near Dayton, Indiana.
