Bassey Solomon Bassey, a father, brother, and friend, passed away on the afternoon of May 13th, 2024 in Hollywood, Florida.
Bassey was born to Solomon and Nkoyo Bassey in Akai Ubium, Akwa Ibom, Nigeria on November 24th, 1955. Bassey loved education and leadership, going on to attend a teacher's college in Nigeria. He immigrated to the United States in the early 1980s to attend Indiana University as an international student. Bassey obtained his Bachelor's and Master's in Business Administration while working full-time. Throughout Bassey's life, he demonstrated diligence and dedication to hard work. He held roles in various fields, including union work, healthcare administration, hospitality, transportation, and insurance.
Bassey was a devout Christian, with a profound belief in the word of God. Bassey was passionate about music and an avid sports enthusiast, enjoying soccer, tennis, golf, and wrestling. He was interested in current events and global affairs. In his free time, Bassey also enjoyed watching action movies and television shows. Though often reserved, he was a charismatic man, loving to laugh and recall funny stories.
Bassey is survived by his three children from previous marriages: Maggie, Victor, and Gabriel. He is also survived by his siblings Mrs. Adiaha Johnson and Mr. Ibiok Solomon Bassey, who reside in Nigeria. There are many other relatives and friends whose names are too numerous to list, but they are not forgotten. As we remember Bassey for his impact on our lives, we know he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
