Beatrice Stanford

March 12, 1935 – August 7, 2025

Beatrice Stanford, 90, of Lake Worth, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2025.

Born in Colombia, Beatrice was one of nine siblings-eight sisters and one brother. As the second-to-last child, she was lovingly cared for by her older sisters, which fostered her lifelong devotion to family.

In the early 1960s, she emigrated to the United States to help her youngest sister, Fanny, care for her four young children. While returning to Colombia, she met Jim Stanford, a Tool & Die Extrusion Manager working in Barranquilla. They soon fell in love, married, and welcomed their first daughter, Patricia. Beatrice cherished her time on the family finca, where she especially loved horseback riding.

Shortly after Patty's birth, Beatrice became pregnant with her son, James Jr. She and Jim returned to the United States, settling in North Miami Beach, Florida, where "Jimmy" was later born. Beatrice dedicated herself to raising her children, often walking them to and from school.

During the 1970s, Beatrice and Jim played a vital role in helping her family immigrate to the United States, with all but one of her sisters eventually settling in the Miami area. Today, her surviving sister, Fanny, resides in Utica, New York.

Beatrice brought her vibrant spirit and love of life to everything she did. She worked for many years at Equifax as a Credit Consumer Counselor, where she was respected for her dedication and care in helping others. After retiring at age 70, she moved to Lake Worth to be closer to her two grandsons.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 40 years, Jim; her sisters Merce, Carmen, Raque, Lilia, Conchy, and Soco; and her only brother, Armando.

Beatrice's heart was fullest when she was surrounded by family. Over the years, she created countless memories at family gatherings. She is survived by her two children, Patty and Jimmy; her four beloved grandchildren, Karlie, Jordyn, Willy, and Alex; and her sister, Fanny. She cherished each of them deeply.

Known for her love of music and graceful dance moves, Beatrice could light up a room with her energy, smile, and warmth. She leaves behind a legacy of joy, resilience, and unconditional love.

Her family will hold a private service to honor her life. They encourage friends to remember Beatrice by gathering with loved ones, sharing special moments, and listening or dancing to music that brings happiness-embracing the joy she so effortlessly shared. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trustbridge Hospice (Hospice of Palm Beach County / Hospice by the Sea), whose team cared for Beatrice with great compassion in her final days.

Beatrice was a loving, caring mother-in-law and friend to me for 20+ years. I have many fond memories of her with our family. I laughed with her, cried with her, and was treated by her as a son for much of that time. I enjoyed taking her to dental, doctor, and physical therapy appointments as will as hosting family dinners for her and our family virtually every Sunday. She was a wonderful lady and my prayers are with her and her beloved grandchildren.
