Becky Ellen Perkins 1958 – 2025
Becky Ellen Perkins, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and faithful servant of the Lord, passed away peacefully at home on August 1, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Born in Granbury, Texas, to Paul and Marianna Gilley, Becky spent her early childhood in Godley, attending school there through eighth grade before the family moved to Granbury, where she attended high school and graduated in 1976. It was during those high school years that she met the love of her life, Joe Perkins. The two married in 1980, raising their three children, Joseph, Kayla, and Keisha, in the town they both called home.
Becky worked at Granbury High School from 2005 until her retirement in 2024. She touched countless lives during those years, always ready with a smile, a kind word, and a story that could brighten even the toughest days. Her love for her students and her ability to bring laughter and warmth to those around her were truly unmatched. She found peace and joy in nature, from trips to Fort Davis with family to quite afternoons at her sister's house. She loved birdwatching or tending to her flowers while home and was always up to hop in the car and go garage saling. Family gatherings-whether cookouts, birthday parties, or simple evenings spent together-were among her happiest moments. Her home was filled with love and laughter.
Above all, Becky's greatest joy was her faith. She lived a life devoted to Christ, leading others to Him not only through her words but through the example she set every day. She was the cornerstone of her family, a guiding light and true compass for her children and grandchildren, and a steadfast reminder to those around her of Christ love.
Becky is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Marianna Gilley. She is survived by her husband, Joe Perkins; son Joseph Perkins and his wife Marie, along with their children Kalila and Joseph; daughter Kayla King and her husband Michael, with their children Brooklyn and Camryn; daughter Keisha Kindred and her children Trae, Naiema, and Kyson. She is also survived by her sisters, Ann Moore and Patricia Bolton, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A graveside service will be held Acton Cemetery on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 11am where family and friends will gather to celebrate Becky's life and the legacy of love and faith she leaves behind.
"For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." – Romans 8:38-39
