Bernard A. Tamme, age, 74 died Friday, June 2, 2023, peacefully at Baptist Health surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bernie was born December 17, 1948, in Danville, KY to the late Nell Pritchett Tamme and Jess F. Tamme. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Jess Tamme, Jr. (Ina Jane) and Robert Tamme (Elsie).
He graduated from Boyle County High School, class of "66, the University of Kentucky, and Xavier University.
His favorite pastime was spending time with his extended family and friends. Bernie loved golf and was a member of the Wildwood Country Club. His other hobbies included following UK Basketball and Football, the NFL and was a lifelong Dodger fan.
Bernie's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the entire Baptist Health oncology & palliative care team.
Bernie leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 31 years, Sue; daughter, Brittney Talley (Kevin); granddaughter, Josie; brother, Raymond Tamme (Judy) of Frankfort, IL; sister, Anne Williams (Joe) of Kauai; and many nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am, Thursday, June 8 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 212, Mt. Mercy Drive Pewee Valley, KY with burial to follow at Floydsburg Cemetery. Family will receive friends 10am till funeral mass.
A visitation will be held 3-7, Wednesday, June 7 at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane Louisville, KY.
It was Bernie's wish that in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes be made in the form of charitable donations; Baptist Health Louisville Foundation Oncology & Palliative Care Program, 4007 Kresge Way Louisville, KY 40207.
Arrangements under the direction of Pearson's, "Where Louisville Goes to Remember."

sorry. He and I shared a lot of good times during our teenage years. May he rest in peace!
