Bernice Gipp, age 95 of Crivitz, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 20, 2025. Bernice was born on March 25, 1929 to the late George and Amanda (Corbisier) Malvitz in the town of Sevastopol, Sturgeon Bay, WI. She enjoyed dancing, listening to country music, working in the woods with Norman, fishing, and bowling. Bernice worked on a farm for most of her life, but also had other jobs. She worked in a shoe factory for three years, at Algoma Plywood for ten years, at the American Legion in Algoma for 20 years as a bartender, at Larson's canning factory for many years, and also many other odd jobs.
Bernice married Ambrose Charles Brunette on February 15, 1947 and he preceded her in death in 1977. She then met Norman Gipp on September 20, 1987 and the couple was married on October 10, 1987 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hayes.
Bernice is survived by her five children, Brenda (Dan) Matuszewski of Crooked Lake, Matt (Terri) Brunette of Arizona, Harry (Jan Ruggles) Brunette of Oak Creek, David (Amy Jo) Brunette of Amberg, and Joe (Joy) Brunette of Texas; daughter-in-law, Pat Brunette of Sturgeon Bay; five step-children, Bill (Twila) Gipp of Green Bay, Denise Pfeiffer of Colorado, Amy (Scott) Leutjen of Suring, Chris Goff of Sturgeon Bay, and Ellen (Randy) Huncosky of Suring; 24 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a brother, Melvin (Gloria) Malvitz of Sturgeon Bay; sisters-in-law, Vi Malitz and Angie Malvitz. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman Gipp; son, Larry Brunette; siblings, Arnold (Harriet), Ben (Mary), Norman (Bernice), Florence Jennerjohn, Helena (Bob) Lau, Josephine, Alvin, Jack, Marvin, Clifford, Joey, and Bobby; granddaughter, Amanda Brunette; grandsons, Christopher Brunette and Austin Brunette.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at St. John Lutheran Church – Hayes from 10 am until the funeral service at 11 am with Pastor Nick Buchholz officiating. Bernice will be interred at St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring is assisting the family with arrangements. The family would like to thank the staff of Unity Hospice, especially nurse Madison Belongia, and Bernice's social worker, Jill. Further thanks to CNA Tesha and Nurse Tracey for the wonderful care and compassion offered to Bernice during her time of need.

Our deepest sympathies to Bernice´s family. May you hold all her memories close to your heart. Growing up,I had a lot of fond memories of Great Aunt Bernice at family gatherings many great conversations that I will cherish close to my heart. God bless you all.
