Bertha Domangue Fanguy, 82, a native and resident of Chauvin, LA; passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 10:40AM surrounded by her loving family.
A private ceremony will be held, followed by a Christian burial at St. Joseph Church Cemetery.
Bertha is survived by her three children: Thomas J. Fanguy and wife Penelope, Robert P. Fanguy and wife Karla, and Carla A. Fanguy; her six grandchildren: Jordan T. Fanguy, Jonathan T. Fanguy, Kelsi A. Fanguy, Kayne J. Fanguy, Beth D. Collins and husband Ronnie, and Julia C. Duplantis; and her two great-grandchildren: Anthony and Anna Collins.
Bertha is preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty-two years: Warren "Tommy" Fanguy; her parents: mother Mazie Theriot Domangue and father Herbert Domangue; her sister Lorraine Bergeron, her brothers Herbert Domangue Jr. and Jessie "Bud" Lyons, and her mother and father in-laws Adeline and Stephen Fanguy.
Bertha was a dedicated wife to her husband, "Tommy." The two spent much time throughout their lives enjoying the company of each other. Together, they traveled the world with their children, all three whom she loved dearly. She spent much of her time in her garden and flower beds and took pride in the beauty of her work. Bertha was an amazing grandmother. Whether it would be time spent with them in her yard, cooking for and with them, or coloring, much of her time was dedicated to her grandchildren. She enjoyed seeing them after school each day and listening to her granddaughter, Julia, sing. Recently, she enjoyed having her great-grandchildren over to visit.
Bertha will be missed dearly and the memories of her will be cherished forever.
The family would like to specially thank Dr. Russel Henry and Dr. Ralph J. Bourgeois, as well as her caregivers.
