Betsy McKenna Obituary
Betsy C. McKenna, 75, of Eastchester died on December 11, 2025. Betsy was born on December 20, 1949 to Grace and John Mauritz in New Rochelle NY. She graduated from Eastchester High School in 1967. She attended Paul Smith College and then attended the University of Connecticut where she graduated from their nursing program. Betsy was a nurse for many years prior to joining the New Rochelle Police Department reaching the rank of Detective. After serving 20 years she retired from the NRPD and then volunteered at the Immaculate Conception Church participating in the choir and teaching religious instruction to the children of the parish, this was Betsy's passion.
Betsy is survived by her brother John Mauritz and his wife Catherine of Stonington, CT and their children Christopher and Michelle, and her sister Diane Shumway-Dack and her husband John of Fishkill, NY and children Jennifer, John, Justin and Sarah. Betsy is also survived by many wonderful cousins near and far. May you rest in peace Betsy and God be with you always. The family will receive friends at the WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. EASTCHESTER Monday, December 15, 2025, 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Mass, Tuesday December 16, 2025 at 9:30 am at Immaculate Conception Church, Tuckahoe. Interment to follow at Kensico Cemetery.
