Betty Gene Fore, was born in Kansas City, Missouri on January 5, 1930 to George and Lucille Robinson, both of whom preceded her in death. She grew up with her five siblings and they lived off 23rd St. and Park in Kansas City, Missouri. She passed away on May 18, 2025 at the age of 95, surrounded by family at St. Luke's Hospice House.
Betty was raised Catholic and attended St. Joseph Grade School and graduated from Lincoln High School at 16 years old. Through her lifetime she attended of now closed St. Louis Parish, St. Therese Little Flower, and St. Monica Catholic Church. In 1948, Betty married Henry J. Fore and they had three daughters Joyce Marie, Jan Renee and June Alliyson. Their marriage ended in 1981.
Betty worked at the Circuit Court of Jackson County, IRS and retired from Catholic Charities of Kansas City- St. Joseph after 25 years as a Secretary/Receptionist at 75 years old. After she became homebound, she continued to enjoy playing bingo, her cat, Princess, watching Channel 5 news, Wheel of Fortune, Royals Baseball, and WWE Wrestling and enjoyed talking to her best friend, Mary Wayne, everyday for many years until her passing in 2021 at the age of 101.
Betty is preceded in death by her siblings George Robinson, Jr., Elsie Kirby-Rogers, Theresa Davis, Cecelia Titsworth, Edward G. Robinson; grandson Dra Edward Fore; great-niece Judy Garner; niece Loretta Gipson, Virginia "Benny" Garner; nephews, Lonnie Davis and Robert Davis.
Betty is survived by children, Joyce Stafford, Jan Burnside and June Wayne (John); grandchildren Carl A. Stafford, Ebony Edwards (Daniel), Jasmine Wayne, Jessica Wayne; great grandchildren Evan, Ezra and Daniel Edwards, Myles Gutierrez, Kash Benbow; nephew Anthony Kirby, James Arthur "Plicky" Rogers, nieces Rosie Davis-Woods, Anita Davis – Watts and a long line of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2025, 11am at Watkins Heritage Chapel, visitation 10 am. Private Disposition. Visitation from 10am-11am at the chapel.
