A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 10:00 am at St. Genevieve Roman Catholic Church in Lafayette, LA for Betty Lee LeBlanc, 83, who passed away peacefully on Monday, May 26, 2025, at Eunice Manor Nursing Home in Eunice, LA.
Visitation will be held at Saint Genevieve Roman Catholic Church, in Lafayette on Saturday, May 31, 2025, beginning at 9:00 am until the time of service.
A Rosary will be recited by great-niece, Sarah LeBlanc, on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 9:30 am at Saint Genevieve Roman Catholic Church in Lafayette, LA.
Readers will be niece, Lori Landry, and great-niece, Emma LeBlanc. Sandy Derouen, godchild, and Robert Martin, nephew, will serve as gift bearers.
Musical Selections will be provided by Jodi Bollich. The songs will be Softly and Tenderly, Psalm 23, The Lord is My Shepherd, Amazing Grace, Ave Maria, and On Eagles Wings.
Inurnment will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette.
Father Brian Taylor, Pastor of Saint Genevieve Roman Catholic Church will officiate.
Betty LeBlanc was born on August 22, 1941, in Cecilia, LA and resided in Lafayette the majority of her life. She was a life-long parishioner of Saint Genevieve Roman Catholic Church.
Betty had a career working as a secretary with the City of Lafayette and the tax office at the Lafayette Parish School System. Upon retirement, Betty devoted herself to caring for her mother, and numerous great nieces and a great nephew.
Time spent with family, often sharing stories of long ago, was valuable to Betty. She adored beginning each day in prayer and watching her daily Mass on EWTN. Betty enjoyed watching movies and television. Family was everything to Betty, and she leaves a legacy of love and will be deeply missed.
Betty is survived by one sister, Mildred Devillier, of Cade, and three godchildren; Wayne Dore', Sandy LeBlanc Derouen, and Leslie Albert Falcon. She was called Aunt Betty by 4 generations of numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Alcidie Guidry LeBlanc; her 8 siblings, John and his wife, Anna Belle LeBlanc, Emma Lou and her husband, Joseph Melancon, Paul and his wife, Nan LeBlanc, Lena Mae LeBlanc, Viola and her husband, Willis Dore', Jesse and his wife, Sue LeBlanc, Alice and her husband, Richard Martin, Vilia and her husband, Jim LeBlanc; brother-in-law Jimmy Devillier; nephews, Bobby Clement, Terry LeBlanc, Todd LeBlanc, and Ronald LeBlanc; nieces, Jane Marks and Liz LeBlanc; great-nephews Johnny Melancon and Gerard Schexnider; and great, great niece Lauren Johnston.
Pallbearer will be Wayne Dore' her godson.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Eunice Manor Nursing Home, and the staff of Hope Hospice, for the wonderful and compassionate care given to Betty and her family during her illness. To the entire LeBlanc Family, thank you dearly for all of your prayers and support throughout the years.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to offset funeral costs.
