Betty Jean Wiggins Ward               

June 29, 1934, to January 24, 2025

 On June 29th, 1934, Betty Jean Wiggins was born in Shelby County, in East Texas to E.L. and Vassie Wiggins, and walked into the arms of Jesus on Friday January 24, 2025. Betty graduated from Pine Tree High School in 1951. She married Bryan Ward on May 6th, 1960. Betty and Bryan welcomed their first child Patricia (Pat) Jean on December 12th, 1964, and their son William Michael (Mike) on July 19th, 1970. Betty enjoyed the life of a stay-at-home mother and wife. Betty found great joy in spending time with all her family. Many laughs were shared with family and friends gathered around the table playing games. Betty loved to travel, watch the birds and squirrels and the brightly colored cardinals. She was an avid NASCAR, and baseball fan as well as Wheel of Fortune. Betty will be fondly remembered by everyone for her beautiful smile. 

 

She was reunited in heaven with her parents, E.L. and Vassie Wiggins; beloved husband, Bryan Ward, sister Judy Brown and granddaughter, Hannah McCallum, and many other family members, friends, and people she loved dearly. 

 

Left to carry on her legacy include her daughter Pat Ainsworth and husband Bobby; son Mike Ward and wife Dawn; Sisters Wanda McCardle and Joyce Grisham and husband Donald, grandchildren Tim Cooper and wife Norma, Bethany Strickland, Marlee Nelson and husband Josh, BJ Ainsworth and wife Chasity, Kristi Ainsworth, Willie Ainsworth and wife Nikki, great grandchildren, Wyatt Bryant, Razelle Bryant, Finlee Nelson, Hunter McCallum, Tyler Ainsworth, Ryleigh Ainsworth, Aubree Ainsworth, Austin Ainsworth and Sadie Ainsworth and great greatgrandchild Stetson Ainsworth. She also has several dear nieces, nephews and cousins

 

Visitation will be Thursday, January 30th from 5 pm to 8 pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton, MS. Funeral service will be Friday, January 31stat 11 am at Ott & Lee with Brother Tal Vardaman officiating. Graveside will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
