Beverly Barter Obituary
Beverly Elizabeth Barter, age 67, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023. She grew up in Fairhope, Alabama and was a resident of Cordele, Georgia. Beverly was a graduate of the University of Alabama and was a member of the first class of the New College. Upon graduation, she joined the Social Security Administration, where she served her entire career of 45 years as a Claims Specialist.
Beverly was always sewing, crocheting, and smocking gifts for family and friends. She also loved to cheer on the Crimson Tide. The hobby she enjoyed the most was researching her family's genealogy, creating a detailed family tree to share with extended family. A devoted Catholic, Beverly was a member of St. Theresa of the Little Flower Church.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Joseph Barter and Vera Ashworth Barter.
She is survived by her brother, Barry Edward Barter of Spanish Fort, AL; cousins, Angela Barter (AL) St. Pierre of Baton Rouge, LA, James F. (Alexandra) Barter, Jr., and Eileen Barter (David) LeNoir, both of Mobile, AL, John W. (Mary Lou) Barter, III of Charleston, SC; and many friends and family.
Visitation will be from 10:00am to 11:00am on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, 19698 Greeno Road, Fairhope, AL. Followed by a graveside service at 11:00am at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Fairhope, AL; www.stlawrencefairhope.com.
