Beverly Dean

Beverly Dean of Harrington went home to be with her Lord, Saturday, March 30, 2024, at home with her family and friends. She was 79 years old.
She was a native Delawarean, born in Wilmington General Hospital on January 17, 1945, to the late Russell and Susie Dean. Beverly grew up in Bowers Beach where back in the 50's her parents had "The Heart Break Hotel".
She worked at the Hub in Dover, Kirby & Holloway as a carhop, waitress and cook as well as Thew Bay View, Hollywood Diner in Dover. Later in life she took care of the elderly that were ill.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Greenfield; her sisters, Doris Pleasanton, Jacqueline Kaercher, and Shirley Biddle, and her dog Sammie Dean whom she loved very much.
Beverly is survived by her son, James Dean and a daughter Tonya Smith, also Cam Mitchell a dear friend to the family; grandson, Shawn and his wife Britney and their 3 children, Gabby, Gracie and Giuliana; grandson, Michael Smith and his wife Shannon; granddaughter, Rustisue Dean, who is a very special girl; two cousins, Donald Dean and Janice Wagner, they were more like brother and sister; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; also good friends, Connie, Joan, Bobbie and Clair.
A viewing will be held from 6-8, Tuesday April 9, 2024, evening at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10). Funeral services will be held 11AM, Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South. The interment will be held at Barratt's Chapel Cemetery.
