Billie Jayne Moses, 67, of Columbus, died at 6:25 p.m. on April 12, 2025, at Franciscan Health Indianapolis. Billie was born in Indio, California, on January 26, 1958, the daughter of William Verl Hodson and Della Carlita (Johnson) Lewis. She married James Moses.
Billie, a proud veteran and lifelong lover of simple joys, leaving behind memories filled with strength, spirit, and quiet laughter. A 1976 graduate of West Washington High School, Billie went on to serve her country with honor in the United States Marine Corps-an accomplishment she carried with pride throughout her life. A fiercely independent soul, Billie valued her privacy but had a warm heart for the things she loved most: cheering for her beloved Kansas City Chiefs, spending time with her feisty Chihuahua Little Bit, and enjoying the thrill of a good game of bingo. She will be remembered with love and deep respect by those who knew her best. Semper Fi.
The funeral will be at 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2025, at Jewell Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Rowe officiating. Calling will be from 4:00 until the time of the service at the funeral home. In honoring Billie's wishes, cremation was chosen.
Memorials may be made to the ASPCA or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Survivors include her mother, Della Lewis of Columbus; siblings, Ginger (James) Fox of Salem, IN, Connie Ritchey of Columbus, and Michael Hodson of Edinburgh; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Hodson, and husband, James Moses.
Services were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
