Blanca Laiche

Lic. Blanca Guadalupe Laiche Castañeda Luna, age 72, of Kenner, LA, passed away after a hard-fought battle with Leukemia on Sunday, August 17th, 2025. She was born on January 18th, 1953 in Monclova, Coahuila, Mexico to the late Enrique Castañeda and the late Blanca Luna de Castañeda. Blanca's humble beginnings began in Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila Mexico where her late parents established a successful newspaper named, "El Eco" which was the principal newspaper of the aforementioned border town in Mexico. She was an active contributor to the family business and a key member to its success. In 1975, she graduated with a law degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila in Saltillo, Mexico becoming one of the 1st female attorneys practicing family law in the region as a State attorney. In 1981, she married the late Ronald A. Laiche Sr. and became a naturalized U.S. Citizen shortly thereafter. She was extremely proud of attaining her U.S. citizenship. She was also the owner of a successful industrial painting and sandblasting business (Blancote, Inc.).

Lic. Blanca is survived by her son, David Laiche, her daughter-in-law, Kylah, her sisters, Jacqueline (Jacky), Julieta, her three beloved brothers, Rene Castañeda, Lic. Fernando Castañeda, Lic. Enrique Castañeda, her nieces Blanca, Aida, Karina, Karolina, Alejandra, and her nephews Fernando, Kleber and Rene. Lic. Blanca was a world traveler having visited numerous places around the world. She will be missed by all who knew her as she touched everyone's lives with her beautiful disposition and her infectious smile.

A celebration of life will be held at Garden of Memories Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4900 Airline Dr., Metairie, LA 70001 on Saturday, August 23rd 2025 for 12:00 PM. The visitation will begin at 10:00 AM.
