Robert (Bob) Alan Jackson was called home to be with our Heavenly Father on June 19th 2024. He was born on September 10th, 1946, in Mount Vernon, NY, the first-born beloved son of Alan and Frances (Signorelli) Jackson. He was a long-time resident of Mount Vernon and White Plains, NY and recently relocated south.
Bob is survived by his long-time devoted partner, Merrill Green: dearest children Jennifer Jackson of Martha's Vineyard and Dr. Kristen Jackson of Germantown, MD.; precious grandchildren, Olivia Manfredi, Jaxson and Hudson Banas, who were the joys of his life. He is also survived by his beloved sisters and brother, Diane Petilli of Bolivia, NC, Donald Jackson of Shrub Oak, NY, LuAnne Vilasi of PortChester, NY and Linda Gonzalez of Danbury, CT, two brothers were pre-deceased: Rory Jackson, formerly of Eastchester, NY, and Gary Jackson, formerly of White Plains, NY, and several nieces and nephews.
He attended Mt Vernon, NY schools - Robert Fulton, Graham School, and Edison High before transferring to the newly built Mount Vernon High School graduating in 1964.
Bob enlisted in The United States Army National Guard 42nd Rainbow Division in 1964. He received an Honorable discharge when his service was completed. During his enlistment, it was discovered he was an expert marksman.
Bob was also a skilled home renovator, skills he mostly learned from his Dad. He completely renovated his White Plains home which sold immediately upon completion. He was very proud of this accomplishment! He worked all his life, first at Litton Ind. in Mt. Vernon, then Verizon as a lineman and lastly at Oracle Corp. in NYC as an assurance analyst.
Bob was the icon of the family, the oldest of seven siblings. When asked, he was happy to share his sound advice and wisdom along with much laughter, jokes and teasing. He cherished his childhood growing up in Mount Vernon and loved talking about the old days there. He played baseball on the Mt. Vernon Baseball Leagues and had many childhood friends. He loved cars as a teen, his ultimate dream being to buy a 1957 Chevrolet, which he did! His next car was a black Pontiac GTO. Bob loved to dance and was a hit at the clubs. His favorite sport was wrestling and watching bouts on TV. He also liked watching Westerns. He had a lifelong love of the beach which he shared with his siblings and later with his own children. Bob took great care of himself, walking many miles each day, lifting weights and watching his diet.
The family can't say enough about this outstanding, talented man. He will be missed by all who knew him. We look forward to reuniting with him in Heaven one day. Much love and blessings to our dearest brother, Rest in Eternal Peace.
Services will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers or gifts, please consider making a donation in his memory to the National Guard Educational Foundation, Disabled American Veterans or the American Heart Association.

Bob was such a great guy and brother. He was my rock and anytime I needed advice or just to talk, he was there for me. We were buddies. We talked often on the phone. He was a funny guy always making me laugh. It was just a heartache that he didn't feel well for so long and Drs. didn't diagnose him in time as many other issues arose while searching for an answer. Needless to say, my heart is broken. I will think of him every day of my life and cherish his memory always.

Forever in my heart. Rest in peace sweet loving brother.

Your sister, Diane
