Bobbi N. Merce, 73, of Oakhurst, New Jersey, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Hallmark Care Center in Mt. Vernon, Iowa. Per her wishes she was cremated and there will be no services at this time.
Bobbi Norma Merce was born on November 25, 1950 to Robert and Harriet (Wales) Veals in New Jersey. She was united in marriage to her one true love, Don Merce on August 21, 1971. She loved spending time at the beach, especially listening to the seagulls. Many fond memories were created at the beach house in Lavallette, New Jersey. Bobbi was passionate about making clothes and costumes for her children.
In 2016, she relocated to Iowa to be closer to her daughter, Meredith. Bobbi was an avid painter, loved collecting gnomes, and being around animals. In her later years, she fancied a good game of Solitaire and BINGO. She will be remembered for her love of chocolate, especially the Red Lobster Chocolate Cake and a good peach Snapple.
Left to cherish her memories are her children, Richard (Krista) Merce of Murfreesboro, TN; Christian Merce of Spokane, WA; Elizabeth (Vincent) Buttaci of New Jersey; and Meredith (Adam) Meier of Cedar Rapids; 3 grandchildren; siblings, Joyce Veals of Florida and Susan (Jeff) Bessolo of Massachusetts; many loved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Don, in 2008; and her sister, Bonnie.
